World experts in innovation in health care systems to attend the HTAi Annual Meeting in Bilbao next week
"Over 1,300 people, 90% of whom will be from abroad, are expected to attend". The Director of Knowledge Management and Evaluation of the Basque Government and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the conference, José Asua, went over some of the figures of the annual meeting, which will be held at the Euskalduna Conference between 23 and 27 June, for the press at the Hotel Meliá de Bilbao this morning. This leading health technology conference is organised annually by the HTAi international scientific society. "The conclusions will have a direct impact on health systems and on patient care over the coming years".
During the press conference, the annual meeting was presented by the secretary of the society, Iñaki Gutiérrez-Ibarluzea, along with Clifford Goodman, Chairman of the HTAi and advisor to the Obama administration on health care reform.
The meeting, which will be held entirely in English, will include 17 accredited training activities and 30 parallel meetings, as Asua explained, who issued an invitation to also attend the "parallel event during this weekend, the pre-conference, which will be attended by top officials from the World Health Organisation".
Goodman ended the presentation by stressing that he was "honoured" to be able to take part in the meeting and that "we need to watch the field of innovation in health systems closely".
